As always, there will be drawings and other fun activities! We will be utilizing Zoom video conferencing for get togethers during the event. The main event will be the TSV Summer Needle Games:

There will be 5 competitions as part of the Needle Games. To be eligible to compete, you must sign up using the form HERE: https://stitchersvillage.com/library/index.php/contact/july-2020-submit

Official Rules: You must submit the form (link above) to enter any or all competitions by July 12, 2020. You may enter all of the five competions if you wish.  Gold and Silver Needlist prize categories will be awarded as determined by The Stitchers' Village. All competitors will be eligible for a mystery cross stitch grab bag prize. The competitions for the first ever Needle Games are:

Mini Speed Stitch: This will be held on Zoom on July 13, 2020 at 7 p.m. Central Time. You will need to register by submitting the form and you will be sent the link to the Zoom get together as well as the chart for stitching. You will need to have on hand supplies to stitch a 40 x 39 design with 228 actual stitches, using one color thread on any size and color fabric you choose. This will be full cross stitches.   This will be the only competition which will require you to be on a Zoom gathering. The first competitor to finish stitching and show their finished piece on the video will be the Gold Needlist for the event. The second is the Silver Needlist. Prizes will be awarded.

Small Speed Stitch: This chart will be emailed on July 14 at 9 a.m. Central Time to all those who sign up to participate. It is a 47 x 66 design provided by Rosewood Manor. DMC thread colors needed are: 150, 310, 844, 3345, 3346, 3348, 3350, 3731, 3733. You may use any count/color fabric. Stitch the design and submit an image file through the form you used to register for the event.   The first competitor to submit an image of their finished piece will be the Gold Needlist for the event. The second will be the Silver Needlist. Prizes will be awarded.

Medium Speed Stitch: This chart will be emailed on July 15 at 9 a.m. Central Time to all those who sign up to participate. It is a 118 x 83 design by The Stitchers’ Village Designs (3170 full cross stitches). Designed using Sulky Cottom Petites: 1056, 1019, 0521, 1066, 1177, 1032, 1292. DMC thread conversion: 3826, 3824, 435, 745, 471, 208, 3840. You may use any count/color fabric. Stitch the design and submit an image file through the form you used to register for the event.   The first competitor to submit an image of their finished piece will be the Gold Needlist for the event. The second will be the Silver Needlist. Prizes will be awarded.

Specialty Stitches: The required stitches will be indicated in an email sent on July 16 at 9 a.m. Central Time to all those who sign up to participate. The specialty stitches must each be stitched 3 times on the same piece of fabric one row each of the stitches specified. You must submit an image of the stitches showing them all on the same piece of fabric. Stitch the design and submit an image file through the form you used to register for the event.   The first competitor to submit an image of their finished piece will be the Gold Needlist for the event. The second will be the Silver Needlist. Prizes will be awarded.

Biscornu: This chart will be emailed on July 13 at 9 a.m. Central Time to all those who sign up to participate. You will need to register by submitting the form and you will be sent the link to the Zoom get together as well as the chart for stitching. You will need to have on hand supplies to stitch a 54 x 54 design (the back can be stitched with only the backstitching and outside border if you choose) with the front stitch count being 570 full cross stitches and 15.4 inches of backstitching (figured on 14 count), using one color thread on any size and color fabric you choose the design is intended to be sea coral (hint for color). This will be full cross stitches and backstitching. The first competitor to finish stitching, construct the biscornu, and submit an image file of their finished piece through the form (same for by which you registered) will be the Gold Needlist for the event. The second will be the Silver Needlist. Prizes will be awarded. Second hint: I used a large “pearl” bead in the front center of mine.
